I had someone driving my car and after we drove through my neighborhood still covered with sand and rocks from the winter, the car developed a grinding, like sandpaper noise coming from the rear that was speed sensitive. It went away on turns and under hard breaking but came back when letting off or going straight. After I parked the car and put it in reverse and went a few feet, it just went away and hasn't come back. Could something have been kicked into the pad or rotor or something and worked itself out when reversing? This is something completely strange and wonder if anyone had any possible reasons or experience with a grinding that went on for about a mile but then went away?
Debri/Rock/Hicas problem...Any theories?
thanks

And if dave N is listening, I still hate you for moving away and leaving me mechanic-less.
